Hong Kong has a mixed position in these products: it appears on some supported-market lists, while other cards explicitly exclude it. The difference depends on the issuing entity's compliance arrangements.
Products whose materials explicitly support Hong Kong include ether.fi Cash, Ethena Pay, Exa Card, Avici Card, Reap Card (business card), and PokePay Card (promotions limited to Hong Kong residents). Products that explicitly exclude Hong Kong include Fizen Card (excludes Hong Kong residents), SolCard (terms do not support Hong Kong), and BitMart Card (historical list included Hong Kong; the card is now discontinued).
Important: “Hong Kong resident” and “mainland Chinese identity documents” are separate eligibility conditions. PokePay promotions are limited to Hong Kong residents living in Hong Kong; that does not establish that mainland Chinese ID holders can apply.

The difference between Hong Kong residency and mainland Chinese documents
This is the point most often confused in the Hong Kong market and one that promotional language can leave ambiguous.
Hong Kong resident generally means someone holding a Hong Kong identity card, whether a permanent or non-permanent resident. Mainland Chinese identity refers to a mainland Chinese ID card or passport.
The distinction can affect:
- Proof of address. Many products require an address in the application market. A Hong Kong resident may provide a Hong Kong bank statement or utility bill; a mainland resident generally cannot provide those documents.
- Identity checks. Some products connect KYC to Hong Kong identity-document databases and do not support mainland Chinese documents.
- Compliance arrangements. An issuer operating in Hong Kong must meet local requirements and may limit service to Hong Kong residents.
So when a product says “Hong Kong supported,” check one more detail: does that mean Hong Kong residents only, or can non-residents apply with other documents?
Checks for Hong Kong applicants
- Separate business and personal cards. Reap Card serves companies completing KYB; its application route and requirements differ from those for personal cards.
- Identify the issuing entity. Our BIN dataset includes seven records with Hong Kong sponsor-bank details, which can help with cross-checking.
- Check discontinued products. BitMart Card's historical market list included Hong Kong, but the card has ended. Relying on an old list would lead to the wrong conclusion.
- Check subscription compatibility. If your main use is AI subscriptions or overseas SaaS, review the available card-BIN and Stripe compatibility evidence.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get a stablecoin card in Hong Kong with a mainland Chinese ID?
It depends on the product. Avici Card explicitly prohibits mainland Chinese residents, mainland China is not on Exa Card's supported list, and PokePay promotions are limited to Hong Kong residents. We have not verified a Hong Kong card product that clearly accepts mainland Chinese IDs; check each issuer's eligibility page.
Can mainland users apply for PokePay?
Some promotions on the official site are limited to Hong Kong residents living in Hong Kong. The site does not provide a complete list establishing that mainland Chinese identity documents are accepted. We preserve that distinction and do not infer that mainland residents can apply.
Can an individual apply for Reap Card?
No. Reap Card is for companies registered in Hong Kong, Singapore, and other eligible jurisdictions and requires KYB. It is not available to individuals without a company.
