Detailed Facts
- The card draws on euros, not bitcoin
- Bitstack’s card is a Visa Classic debit card, and spending is debited straight from the euro cash balance in the app. The official help centre states plainly that it is "a debit card, not a credit card", with no overdraft and no interest. The card itself does not sell bitcoin per purchase — to spend bitcoin you first convert it to euros in the app. Stackback rewards, conversely, are paid in bitcoin. [1] [2]
- Issued in France only, and still listed as a waitlist
- The help centre says "The Bitstack card is currently available exclusively to residents of France"; cards for mainland France are produced the next day and arrive within 10 business days. The card page still closes with "download Bitstack to join the waitlist", the English block on that same page says "Coming soon" while the French block says the card can already be used, and the help centre treats it as orderable. Three states coexist, so this record treats it as a public beta. [2] [5] [6]
- Pricing: the card itself is free; only usage beyond the allowances costs
- No monthly fee. The physical card is €9.99 plus delivery and virtual cards are not yet offered. FX is free up to €1,000 a month and about 1% beyond that; ATM withdrawals are free up to €200 or five a month, after which each costs €1 or 1%. Card spending is capped at €5,000 a month, and the issuer states the limits cannot be changed. [3] [4]
- Rewards are denominated in bitcoin — small, but stackable
- Stackback pays 0.1% on the base tier and 0.15% with Plus, rising to what the issuer describes as up to 1% with recurring buys and round-ups, and up to 1.5% with Plus. The reward is paid in bitcoin rather than cash, so its value moves with the price. [7]

First, work out where the money on the card comes from
Bitstack’s business is bitcoin savings, and the card is simply the spending outlet for that account. The issuer is explicit: it is a debit card, spending debits the euro cash balance, and bitcoin is not sold per transaction. For a user that means the card cannot be used when the cash balance is empty, however much bitcoin the app shows — you convert first. Rewards run the other way and settle in bitcoin, so both directions touch bitcoin. [1] [2]
Outside France, the card is not available today
Eligibility is fixed to French residents, and card production and delivery times are given specifically for mainland France. This is not an "available across Europe, ships across Europe" card; someone staying in France with an address elsewhere is outside it. It is recorded here because its fee structure and compliance disclosure are clearer than most comparable cards and make a useful reference point — not because it is open to Chinese readers. [2] [5]
The compliance disclosure is the most useful part of this card
The site states that Bitstack is registered with the ACPR as an agent of Xpollens (no. 747088) and holds an AMF crypto-asset service authorisation (A2025-003). That is far more specific than "licensed partner", and it is one of the few cases in this catalogue where two registration numbers can be checked directly. [6]
