Buenbit Card Has Shut Down: What to Switch To

The Buenbit Card was a Mastercard prepaid card from the Latin American crypto platform Buenbit, issued with Pomelo, for users in Argentina and Peru, and it let holders spend stablecoins such as USDT and USDC directly. As of 23 October 2026 both buenbit.com and the card page 301-redirect to Nexo's Argentine site, and no card product page remains under the Buenbit brand; no shutdown notice was published and no migration path for existing cardholders was explained. This site has therefore changed the status to closed and kept the original sources for readers to check.

Shutdown timeline

Newest event first. Each entry comes from this card’s change log or from verified official material; where several share a date, the one written as an event comes first.

  1. Shutdown confirmed

buenbit.com and the card page 301-redirect to nexo.com/es-ar; status changed to closed

Checked on 2026-10-23, buenbit.com and buenbit.com/tarjetas both return a 301 whose landing page is the Nexo Card sales page on Nexo's Argentine site, and no card page remains under the Buenbit brand. No shutdown notice was published and no migration path for existing cardholders was explained, so this site changed the status to closed on the evidence of the site itself.

  2. Brand and site status

Checked on 2026-10-23, buenbit.com and buenbit.com/tarjetas both return a 301 to nexo.com/es-ar, whose landing page sells the Nexo Card and carries no Buenbit card content at all. No shutdown notice was published, and nothing in the material this site can reach explains what happens to existing cardholders' balances or how they migrate.

What to do next

Deadlines the issuer has given

The issuer has not published a deadline that is still in effect.

This site’s general checklist

The following is not an instruction from the issuer. It is this site’s general advice for any card being retired.

  1. Stop topping up the card or its account, so the balance does not sit with a party that has stopped operating.
  2. Move the balance back to a wallet or account you control before the service ends; the withdrawal route usually closes before the card itself does.
  3. Go through every recurring charge tied to this card, especially AI and streaming subscriptions, and move them to the new card before cancelling the old one.
  4. Keep the shutdown notice, withdrawal records and ticket numbers as evidence for any later claim or appeal.
  5. Pick a backup card on a different network or from a different issuer, so a single channel failure does not take both down at once.
