Shutdown timeline

Newest event first. Each entry comes from this card’s change log or from verified official material; where several share a date, the one written as an event comes first.

  1. Service Termination

Consumer card and web app confirmed to stop working at 23:59 UTC on 2026-12-20

Official materials confirm that the consumer card and the web app both stop working at 23:59 UTC on 2026-12-20, matching the termination date given in the earlier notice. After that date Gnosis Pay's consumer-facing service is no longer available, and how service continues depends on whether the account can be migrated to a partner app.

  2. Residence eligibility

No valid, current country list for the personal card could be verified. An older official list marked South Africa as coming soon, not supported. Consumer card service has been announced to end on 2026-12-20 at 23:59 UTC.

  3. Service end time

The official notice says the consumer card and web app, except for withdrawals, will stop working on 2026-12-20 at 23:59 UTC. Handle the card, subscription payments and account migration before then.

  4. Migration Path

Migration confirmed as EUR-only, and as a new contract rather than a renewal of the original agreement

The official help centre states that only EUR accounts can migrate to a partner app: EUR accounts move to Rebind, while USD and GBP accounts are outside the migration scope — USD is pointed to Picnic / MiniPay instead, and GBP is said to still be worked on — so being migratable does not mean every Gnosis Pay user can move across. The termination notice states that joining a partner programme "does not constitute a continuation or variation of the existing contractual arrangements with Gnosis Pay and Monavate"; Rebind's terms also state that its card is still issued by Gnosis Pay, so the underlying issuer is unchanged, but what is formed between the user and Rebind is a new contract.

  5. Winddown and closure

Ceased replacement card issuance, consumer spending terminating December 20

Official winddown notice: new registrations closed Sept 4, new card issuance and GNO cashback halted Sept 30; consumer debit card spending terminates Dec 20, 2026 23:59 UTC as platform pivots to B2B infrastructure; user Safe smart contract funds remain unaffected and withdrawable anytime.

  6. Regional Adjustment

    Brazil local service exit transition

Official notice adjusting Latin America local operations; European self-custodial Visa cards remain normal.

  7. Zero Slippage

European mainnet launched direct Monerium EURe debits

Introduced compliant on-chain euro token EURe, enabling European cardholders to spend in euros with 1:1 zero-slippage settlement.

What to do next

Deadlines the issuer has given

  • The official notice says the consumer card and web app, except for withdrawals, will stop working on 2026-12-20 at 23:59 UTC. Handle the card, subscription payments and account migration before then.

This site’s general checklist

The following is not an instruction from the issuer. It is this site’s general advice for any card being retired.

  1. Stop topping up the card or its account, so the balance does not sit with a party that has stopped operating.
  2. Move the balance back to a wallet or account you control before the service ends; the withdrawal route usually closes before the card itself does.
  3. Go through every recurring charge tied to this card, especially AI and streaming subscriptions, and move them to the new card before cancelling the old one.
  4. Keep the shutdown notice, withdrawal records and ticket numbers as evidence for any later claim or appeal.
  5. Pick a backup card on a different network or from a different issuer, so a single channel failure does not take both down at once.
