Shutdown timeline

Newest event first. Each entry comes from this card’s change log or from verified official material; where several share a date, the one written as an event comes first.

  1. Shutdown catalogued

Catalogued the OneKey Card shutdown archive: the official notice retires it in three stages, fully stopping on 2025-01-31

OneKey published its OneKey Card service discontinuation notice on 2024-09-25, and this site has catalogued the shutdown record. The timetable: registration and top-up closed on 2024-09-30; cards not deregistered were deleted automatically on 2024-10-31 and balances moved to the OneKey Card wallet account; the service stopped entirely on 2025-01-31. The issuer stated that funds remained withdrawable or refundable at any time, and that withdrawal demand may delay the shutdown; users who had paid to upgrade were refunded the difference by 2024-10-31 under the notice's formula. OneKey no longer offers a card product page, and the current line is hardware wallets and the OneKey App. This is a documented staged shutdown, not a disappearance without notice.

  2. Refunds for paid upgrades

Users who paid for an upgrade have the difference refunded by a formula and returned to their wallet on 2024-10-31: refund = upgrade fee paid − discount already used − (months of the card tier used × tier upgrade fee ÷ 24). The formula is quoted from the notice and is not reinterpreted here.

  3. Mis-sent tokens and referral rewards

The notice addresses "mis-sent tokens" separately, saying it will keep returning tokens and direct users to file a ticket; referral rewards are returned to the OneKey Card wallet by 2024-10-31.

Who is affected

These fields carry the card’s last published wording, to help you work out which category your account falls into. They do not mean these conditions are still open to new applicants.

Application regions
Fully discontinued, with new applications closed in every region. The issuer did not list the original supported regions in its notice
Identity verification
The service stopped entirely on 2025-01-31 and no longer accepts applications or top-ups, so current KYC requirements do not apply. Balances and refunds on historical cards are handled under the official discontinuation notice.
Funding route
A self-operated OneKey virtual card (historical product). The discontinuation notice names neither the card network, the issuing institution nor the funding model.
Fee wording
The discontinuation notice does not publish a fee schedule. It mentions only that the card had tiers and paid upgrades, and gives the refund formula for users who paid to upgrade: refund = upgrade fee paid − value of the benefits already used − (months the card tier was in use × card upgrade fee ÷ 24). The issuance fee, monthly fee, FX fee and top-up fee are all unpublished and should not be read as free.
Reward wording
The discontinuation notice does not publish a cashback or rewards structure. It states that referral rewards would be returned to the OneKey Card wallet by 2024-10-31.

The fee and reward fields preserve the card’s last published wording and do not mean those terms still apply. Current availability follows the official sources and verification date listed on the profile.

What to do next

Deadlines the issuer has given

The issuer has not published a deadline that is still in effect.

This site’s general checklist

The following is not an instruction from the issuer. It is this site’s general advice for any card being retired.

  1. Stop topping up the card or its account, so the balance does not sit with a party that has stopped operating.
  2. Move the balance back to a wallet or account you control before the service ends; the withdrawal route usually closes before the card itself does.
  3. Go through every recurring charge tied to this card, especially AI and streaming subscriptions, and move them to the new card before cancelling the old one.
  4. Keep the shutdown notice, withdrawal records and ticket numbers as evidence for any later claim or appeal.
  5. Pick a backup card on a different network or from a different issuer, so a single channel failure does not take both down at once.
